Aditya Birla Finance Ltd. – Employee Engagement Case Study

Objective

ABFL was experiencing a plateau in employee participation in its e-learning courses. The goal was to reignite interest and ensure every employee completed at least 3 e-learning courses per month.

Proposal & Strategy

The senior management at ABFL was eager to create a campaign that employees would never forget—and their enthusiasm inspired us to go all out!

It was FIFA season, and what better way to catch the fever than by designing an engagement activity around it? The idea: combine the thrill of football with the need to drive e-learning.

Execution & Outcomes

We designed e-FIFA, an online football-themed learning challenge that blended gaming with professional development.

  • Employees were grouped into different football teams.
  • Each team had a senior management member as captain, motivating the rest of the 3,000 employees to participate.
  • At each stage:
    • Employees played a fun online football game.
    • This was followed by an e-learning course.
    • On completion, they earned scores that allowed them to advance to the next stage.

The mix of healthy competition, football fever, and gamified learning created a buzz across the organization. Over 3 weeks, e-FIFA became the talk of the office!

The Results
  • 2000+ logins to the e-learning portal.
  • 100% participation target achieved—every single employee completed at least 3 e-learning courses.
  • A sense of excitement, collaboration, and competitive spirit spread across the workforce.

Conclusion

The e-FIFA challenge transformed routine e-learning into a thrilling experience, proving that the right mix of creativity and strategy can make employee engagement both fun and impactful.

At ExtraMile, we thrive on creating such experiences—where our partners’ vision meets our innovation to deliver outstanding results.
